WHAW 980 AM
Weston, West Virginia

<< Back one page

Known for glass blowing and the state's insane asylum, Weston, West Virginia is also known as the place of my first paying on-air gig. After the Air Force and some professional training, I was hired by my own home-town powerhouse WSBA as a first class licensed engineer. Not what I wanted to do, but by this time, my first born, Cheryl, had gotten used to eating three times a day. So I jumped at the chance to make a few extra bucks to be on the air in West Virginia, where I also served as chief engineer.

Visiting me (you can barely see me peering out the studio window) were my dad, Gil David, Sr., brother-in-law Don Kauffman holding his daughter Donna Jo, my mother, Dorothy David, my first wife Patience David with Cheryl, and my sister, Joanne David Kauffman.
