WHLI 1100AM
Long Island, New York

<< Back one page

In a lot of ways, WHLI brought my career full circle. Dean Anthony, WHLI PD and NY radio legend, thought I'd make a good fit with the station and its listeners, so he convinced me to make a move. I didn't need too much convincing! I enjoyed the format and the opportunity to play the music I grew up with.

Jack Spector, another NY radio legend, joined the line-up and I must say we had a ball.

But, after fifty years of volleyball, basketball, soccer, skiing, demolition derbys, walkathons and other stunts to raise money for charity, it got hard to walk and talk at the same time. Radio killed my knees (in case you weren't paying attention). Now, thanks to a pair of brand new titanium knees that set off alarms in every airport, it's time for a little golf.

So, after 18 years at the station, WHLI is my final song on the hit parade. I've got to go practice my swing!
