Randy Gordon, who did sports on WGBB and went on to head the NYS Boxing commission used to tell kids that they can be on the front page or the back page. Well here I am on an inside page -- of Teen Life magazine. And yes, teens did love the WSBA good-guys. And we loved them and the music. Imagine playing the Beatles in 1964.

WSBA 910 AM
York, Pennsylvania

Gil David and the Mushroom People was the way my all-night show was described from 1959-1969 on The Mighty WSBA in York, Pennsylvania. I was Susquehanna Radio's first all night jock. It took it's toll. But, this is where I really learned the fundamental value of radio and its ability to connect to people like no other medium can. This is also where I began killing my knees in earnest!

I was on the WSBA ski team, drove in the demolition derby, and basically had a great time.

My family was growing too. My oldest son, Gib was born. One benefit of working all night was getting out of the midnight feedings.
